And now for some casual misogyny:

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104035
Tell us how you REALLY feel, Edmond.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89522
A spectacularly inane thread about hats. Some college weirdo wants to know if he should take his hat off as he walks through the cafeteria. Here's a hint: take your fedora off first thing in the morning, and leave it in your closet next to your monocle and spats. Also, Edmond makes a late-thread appearance to talk about how much he hates women.

On that note:

http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=175296
A discussion of high school teacher attire that is nine parts "teachers dress like slobs! Baggy pants!" and five parts batshit crazy. I suppose Styleforum would prefer to outfit public school teachers in effeminate, poorly fitting Italian double breasted suits and gigantic Alden longwings.

Andyland surpasses inanity and verges into purest idiocy:

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103197
iGents pursue their need to wear pocket squares with everything to the logical conclusion; thread participants spew venom in every direction; an iGent produces a photograph of a pair of peerlessly ugly mandals; spring dwindles further into the brassy heat of summer, and Time presses his cool hand ever more forcefully on our brows.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104117
DougNZ, who was one of the Dandy's ardent lickspittles and considers learning about coats of arms a hobby, needs to prepare himself for white tie events and therefore wants lots of marcella collars and bibs and things. This is one of those "source for vest slips?" level inanities. An axiom (though one that does not hold true, obviously, for the iGents): those of us who do not live in 19th century London do not need the characteristic specialized costumes of 19th century London.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104107
Please keep your disgusting personal conditions to yourself.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103728&page=2
The next American iGent to refer to Prince Charles as "HRH" wins a prize: a giant bag of dicks. Actually, the prize can go to the next iGent of any sort who produces a photograph of Prince Charles accompanied by fawning text. Prince Charles looks like a human-sized, ambulatory foreskin, and the fact the he owns a 40 year old pair of shoes does not make him a style icon for any but the most deranged.

Apropos of Kabbaz:

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1087020&postcount=3

Alexander the Great accuses someone of shilling. I guess when he posts a 1280X800 image of one of his fine scarves wrapped around the proud bosoms of that confused Italian woman it's education, not advertising?

Re: New Improved Inane Post of the Day Thread (50% More Snark)

This whole page is pure iGent:
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103728&page=3
Just amazing. Sneezing, OCD, incredibly unfunny jokes, Kabbaz shilling away.

Also, here is the thing: I do not think that there is any reason for grown men to debate on the internet what they do when they sneeze, blow their noses, sweat, cut themselves with their pocket knives, etc. Please, do NOT tell me where you like to put your various bodily effluents. I do not care. It is not something that people with even the slightest pretension to gentility discuss.

It turns my stomach every time I hear the particularly banal and embarrassing battle-cry of the pocket square fancier "one for showin', one for blowin'." It makes me almost equally ill to see adults write the words "hank" or "hankie," both of which seem needlessly infantile; and again, since the handkerchief is a piece of cloth intended to catch bodily discharge I would be just as happy not hearing about it at all.

For that matter, I'm sick to death of all the idiotic singular/plural screwing around that the iGents do, viz., "two pair" of shoes, a wool "pant." I get the impression that they think this makes them sound knowledgeable, but to my ear it sounds more like something that someone who works in a clothing warehouse would say. There's nothing wrong with working in a clothing warehouse, of course, but there's also no reason to believe that using tradesman's jargon makes you breathlessly sophisticated and refined.

PS                                         Handkerchief in top pocket
pant                                       Trousers (although possibly igents do pant when they think about this)
Odd Jacket                              Sports Jacket (although, again, odd may - for igents - be a precisely accurate description)
Bespoke                                 Anything not actually hanging on a rail and in respect of which one alteration has been made
Classic                                   Safe
