FNB - any word yet on who did the tailoring for Carmichael? or was it a bunch of forgotten geniuses in the BBC costume dept?

There was a wardrobe mistress (whose name escapes me) but the clothes were probably made by Carmichael's usual tailor. Frank Foster often made his shirts.

A few years past a reality series recreated a victorian era family with servants. The head butler having been one before retirement. Anyone know what I am talking about?
Societies have handled homosexuality in many ways with changing mores. All I can say, is I've known gay men of impeccable character, breeding, education and public carraige; better men than I was. I've also met vincictive screaming queens I wanted to bitch slap. And then there was this utterly unrepentant Mule when I worked as a packer. The lead packer walked up, belly kicked it three times and slapped a doubled lead rope across it's rump. Mule stood still as he cinched the Decker on  remarking 'sometimes you have to get their attention, remind them mules are a freak of a nature here only at our convenience.'

What's all this got to do with this thread? There are probably even internet sites devoted to sexual politics, where igays can frolic together. Why not try them out?

Reggie, if your going to shout fire somebody might throw a bucket of water your way. Make a reckless comment about gays and your thread becames a wreck.

I cannot help my reckless nature, anymore than igays can help their nasty, dirty compulsions, Herr Hitler. As I say, let them frolic and frot together. Mind you, I, increasingly, think that you are in the right place for that, right here, ckav! Have F-F-Fun and Cheers; possibly for all time!!!

Beloved.

What I find especially annoying are the Americans chaps who in practically every post need to mention they attended Oxford. I mean, old boy, WTF? Please shut the f*ck up.

Re: Ian Carmichael as Lord Peter Wimsey - iGent superhero?

I do not think that minorities (even fat, gay plumbers) should be victimised but neither do I think that they should inherit the earth. I do not want to read about sexual politics at all. It is interesting that some guys out there (pun intended) will defend minorities such as fags but attack other minorities such as toffs.

It is not really "just an opinion" when a person gets angry because someone else has an opinion that they dont like. When someone holds an opinion that you dont like, does anyone with a brain really think bullying them is going to change their minds or, make them dig in deeper?

When I edit my letters and archaeology field reports or discover a neglected word this huge, two volume Oxford english dictionary with magnifyng glass is on hand. For example, I thought Onslow was named after the capital of Norway until Formby just set things right. Sometimes I even wear a handkerchief in palantine with gold dots and splash an extra drop of Woods of Windsor to open those blue clothed treasures.
My mom uses a paperback Websters for the Times crossword.

Big Tone and ckav seem to be as mad as hatters! But I see little point in trading insults with the first and trying to work out the second's thought processes, which seem to be shot to pieces.

When your cosmos is one big undescended testicle it doesn't take a graduate of Sandhurst to point out a prudent time to withdraw from the field.

Graduates of Sandhurst are not always remarkable for their little grey cells but once the goldfish get working on the reedbeds and the swallows start south, then you know that it is time to retire for refreshments.
