The layout has technical problems. Hitting CTRL-- (minus sign) to reduce the font size should reduce the layout problem with the OPs. You might need to do this more than once. CTRL-+ will increase the font size and CTRL-0 will return the size to the default.

l'm so oblivious to adverts that l never even notive any AAAC adverts, i'm funny like that. l haven't seen a t.v advert in almost 20 years, and l have rarely heard a radio advertisement. l refuse to be preached and shouted to by morons shouting on my t.v set. l'm only open to print advertising. lt makes my blood boil. 
lf advertising is forced in my environment, l tune out or start doing something to avoid taking notice of the vocal advertisements.
l don't like makers with an internet presence either. My favourite makers DON'T advertise.
No-one tries selling me stuff by shouting at me. l won't have it!

The narrow column width brings the mobile browsing experience home. Also, scanning through threads is a hassle because half the information is obscured, the button to get to the last button is often not visible because it has been pushed out by a long username.
There was a notice that the larger ad revenue allowed user sales to be totally free.
I also don't like the new purple bar either.
