Re: The Black Suit

This black suit controversy only exists on a few clothing forums amongst a few clueless know-it-alls...

Just saying...

Re: The Black Suit

I guess that, as rioting gear, it does not show the bloodstains and a similar argument applies for when one becomes doubly incontinent.

Bring on the blue reefers, cream flannels and let us cry with one voice: "Anyone for tennis?"

Re: The Black Suit

And Spode with his Black Shorts. The officers' British naval uniforms are black and a very good exception to the general rule against black uniforms; I guess because they are relieved with bullion. They are certainly copied by most other navies and even Hugo Boss couldn't top them. Good old Gieves!.

Re: The Black Suit

I have no qualms against black suits, although, I wouldn't wear one.  I believe they have become acceptable (whether the sticklers like it or not) in our living, breathing collective way of American dress.

Re: The Black Suit

Knowing what sort of deranged wackos those who obsess about black suits are, it would be amusing to wear them just to watch them spontaneously combust.

Some great illustrations here in this paper and useful thoughts on the meaning of black.
