Here's a terrible, disgusting confession: I have the Allen-Edmond Shoe Manufactory and Blogging Concern Brand MacNeil longwing in navy calf. It's basically black unless you shine some kind of scientific light on it, but has the advantage of not being made from AE's extremely shitty black leather. I've worn them many times and on each occasion I have been stopped in the street and horsewhipped once the townsfolk found out that my shoes were both off the rack and a nonstandard color. The area of Iowa where I (currently) work has an unusually high population of bigtimers though.
