Hey Beatster - re: Flint - check out his Indian outfit (in the second one, I think?). Not for Flint a mere Nehru jacket, oh no - he goes the whole hog, turban and all. I love it when he kills the fly with the blow pipe in "Our Man Flint" - "....this lighter has 72 different weapons...." or something.
He was my fave in the "Magnificent 7" - when he beats the guy to the draw by throwing a knife, that was about the coolest thing I'd seen when I was 10.

The magnificent 7, still one of my favourite films. Saw it when it was released. I was on holiday with my parents in Scarborough. Still one of the finest movie soundtrack. Makes the hairs on your neck stand up when that big tune kicks in...

^ I do. An Italian production? Saw it just once on some dodgy 100th generation copy video many years back. And yes, I'm a fan of the Matt Helm films too! And the soundtracks are surprisingly good IMHO.

It was Italian, forget the director. I've the soundtrack somewhere.....Ennio Morricone.....and Bruno Nicolai, I think. The CD might be in the car, as the missus digs Morricone.

Another classic film. I particularly liked Cary Grant's unlined raincoat. On a different tack, for me the funniest scene is Cary Grant showering suited, hilarious!

Regarding comments vis-a-vis film soundtrack's. I consider modern film soundtracks can be too loud and tend to drown dialogue, or the ever present mumbling by some of this generation of so called 'Actors' IMHO Hitchcock's 'North by North West' probably my all time favourite film. This film had a fantastic soundtrack composed and conducted by the late great Bernard Herrman, which complimented the film perfectly.
To lay this open, what do you consider to be the film with the best complementary soundtrack?
BTW I did not even mention that grey suit from the film!

I think its a problem with the 5.1 sound, I have the same problem with my set-up, you turn the sound loud enough to hear conversation, then everything else is way too loud.
There was a great company in Oxford in the UK that specialised in film soundtracks, great website, use to purchase all the Italian bossa-lounge CD's through them. Then it closed down, but watch this space, someone else is going to have a go at it:
