The blog is indeed pure entertainment. Here's the thing with the dandies of myth and legend - they were dandies because they were extremely witty and socially adept, and they displayed their social power by dressing extravagantly. If Oscar Wilde had dressed with his signature swooning elegance and then minced around his mother's basement burping and farting he would not have been famous.
The iDandies, as usual, have got it backwards and seem to think it's all about the clothes and the wit and charm will come later. This is like buying a saddle and then believing that you are a horse.

Dear Mr G. Mesh
Could perhaps you assist me to get a Green Card and come to your wonderful country to be employed as a "neckwear designer"?
Whilst I am not over familiar with USA necks I am assuming that even from this land necks around the world have something in common and my existing knowledge might, with some effort, be a "transferable skill".
Whilst waiting for employment or an "internship" in the neckwear design industry I would be prepared to take on unskilled work, such as an analyst in your once great finance industry, as an interim measure.
Dear Mr. H,
I would be delighted to stand as your sponsor as you immigrate to our fair shores, assuming that you are willing to take the Loyalty Oath, Fealty Pledge, Patriotism Vow, and swear that you contain no more than 1/32nd drop of Terrorist blood.
The USA neck contains many mysteries, most of which are not readily apparent to the distant or theoretical observer, and also a great deal of fat. I trust that your neckwear design credentials are sufficient, or that they could be formalized through enrollment in a supplementary degree program at one of our many fine universities - I suggest that you choose a university whose name contains many of the same phonemes as Harvard (I specifically recommend Garvard, Marvard, Plarvard, or Yael). Any accredited university should offer a degree-granting program in Neckwear Design or a related field, such as Neckwear Design Software Marketing. Since American universities now operate on a customer service model of education you will not be required to participate in antiquated practices such as class attendance and book ownership.

The Dandy/Augustus/Virtuti/Good Morning Sir/Fashion Photographer returns with an inane thread about a fictional bespoke suit.

An edgy politico from the high-stakes world of inside the beltway horse trading (Calverton, NY) wants edgy sharkskin shoes to match his edgy, high-end personality. He settles on an edgy pair of sharkskin Allen-Edmonds saddle shoes from edgy internet auction site eBay. The shoes, which look like a shark has digested and excreted them, prove far too edgy for the Andymen.

Where I worked they failed to reappoint a lot of people and then appointed new people who have not maintained the productivity such that the place is in chaos and the main guy was whingeing about it to former co-workers. One of those who remained said to him cheekily "maybe you should rehire the productive staff you got rid of!".
We are privileged to witness the dawn of a new epoch with the emergence of a rival for KitonBrioni in the competitive world of high cost/low taste sartorialism:

Note to small-timers: when SamKool writes "2" he means $2,000 - WOWZA!!! Andyland immediately rises to his bait - the next post totes up the complete cost of his breathtaking outfit, which includes Chanel sneakers that replicate the luxurious grandeur of Chuck Taylors for only $650. Oh, if only I could afford the airfare to Quebec I would ask to become SamKool's student. He has much to teach us all about the joys of cashmere "cash sox," ("cashmere socks" for you small-timers).
EDIT: Also the Andyland WAYAYAYWYAW thread has completed its transition to an all UprCrust daily outfit format.

''I was especially pleased to see that William and I dress in a like manner. Here he is after the wedding. I was wearing the same thing a couple of days ago, except that I had my jacket and shirt buttoned. Nice looking couple.''
Cardcaptor Charlie normally looks a lot sharper. A day on the bevvy takes its toll.
