The stroller fetish re-emerges on LL - http://thelondonlounge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10178&p=56334#p56334

When are the iGents going to realise that a stroller, these days, is a form of affected fancy dress.

Phoenix, AZ iGent understands that his daughter's wedding, like everything else in life, is completely about him.  Much angst about the poor job by his "favorite MTM guy":
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112265-Morning-Coat-for-Daughter-s-Wedding-Such-a-mess...
"With what I spend on clothes, and the care that I give my clothes, there is no way that I can wear a jacket that looks like it is three sizes too small for me. This is my daughter's wedding after all, the walk down the aisle, the photos that will last forever, the father-daughter dance, a waltz, where the shoulders of that tight jacket would be up around my ears when in dance frame."

(In light of the Bishop's post above, I was happy to see that a couple of posters suggested he wear his stroller.)

God will not like you much if you don't wear a suit to church (fortunately He doesn't give a shit if it's a sack or darted); needless to say this is bad news for chicks:

Mmmmmm - Job interviews & going to church... iGent heaven!

What are the other classics?

'Upscale' restaurants?

'Exclusive' clubs?

Anything 'High End' on heavy discount?

Compliments from amazingly beautiful well-connected women on their strange clothing choices?

Pens, Pipes and a paranoia of being perceived as poor...?

What the boss said about their clothes?

Their fury at not being treated like an aristocrat in Filene's Basement?

''So I'd like to thank everyone from whom I've learned--which is darn near all of you. I'm certain I haven't made much of a contribution myself, but I have learned a great deal and enjoyed the good nature of fellow posters. So, here's to you, Tweedy, Cards, Coleman, Rambler, Uncle, Trip, AlanC, hookem, Jovan, and many, many more.

In order to cement the nugatory nature of my contributions to the forum, I figured it would be appropriate to tell you a trifling story.........''

Not a bad effort after a thousand posts. Given time, the 'darn' and 'figured' will be replaced by more upscale usage.

Good lord. What attire does one don when cementing a nugatory nature?

Re: Inane Post of the Day 3 Now With Double Inanity Blocking Powerrrrr!

"Trads" at Andy's, still trying to find a reason to exist, come up with another "tradliest" thread--this one asks if summer is the Tradliest season.  Fuck no! "I sweat like a pig all day and night." --Drip   Fuck no! Can't wear enough sweaters and socks and jackets and Filsons and Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan Official Ivy League Family-Here-Before-Ellis Island-Was-Built Rain Hats...-- Everybody else:
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112238-Is-summer-the-tradliest-season

Townview unlined moccasins frenzy--It just doesn't get any better than this for $64-- try to be careful not to wear them in a tough urban environment or on your driveway:
http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112081-Townview-unlined-moccasins-64-shipped!

Sometimes there is a pause, a slight break in the almost constant pain and terror, and something truly wonderful happens.  I think this might be such an occasion:
"I've finally found my true size after many years of trying out different sizes. Workers at shoes stores would measure my feet and tell me I am a 13, but my feet were always swimming in these (no, they never mentioned the concept of width!). I'd usually size down to a 12 to get the width right, but then the toe was a little tight.
Anyway, after some education on sizing (in thanks to this site), I've finally found that my foot fits very well into a 13 C / A. I notice in my shopping however, that many makes are not built on a combination last.
If you have similar proportions, do you find a better fit with a "C" and have the heel a little loose, or have you opted for "B" to split the difference between a narrow heel and wider foot. Obviously, I'd rather have all my shoes in the 13 C/A size, but I don't see this very often at all."
Come, celebrate:

^^ I think you'd need to go to the Elephant shoemaking section at the Zoo to get a size 13 C/A

Re: Inane Post of the Day 3 Now With Double Inanity Blocking Powerrrrr!

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112277-Need-help-finding-matching-coats-and-pants
This thread reaches and exceeds "Death of a Salesman" levels of pathos almost instantly. A sartorially inclined hotel manager from Alabama seeks advice on sports coats and trousers, noting that he can afford only three of each, and that those three must be cheap. He receives the Andyland version of advice, including a reminder from Andy that the website features informative articles on men's clothing - I assume that a reader would conclude that Andy wrote the articles while blindfolded, since he does not seem to benefit from their advice, which is cogent ("Since about 90 percent of you is covered by what you're wearing, the clothing you choose makes a significant statement.").

Andyites join their benevolent master in encouraging the hotel manager to embrace the full iGent color spectrum: taupe, tan, olive, brown, greenish, buff, beige, deep beige. The hotel manager announces his intention to buy and wear a tan seersucker coat with black linen pants.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112279-Bret-Baier-s-Angled-Pocket-Square
My very extremely dear chums - I was enjoying a television broadcast from the Fox News Corporation over dinner the other day (since I find some tough-minded conservative commentary enhances the gustatory qualities of the Subway foot-long - light mayo, one must watch one's waist!) when I noticed that Brett Baier, a ladykiller of no small reputation, was sporting a pocket silking in a most unusual configuration, one that inclined towards his lapel! I started forth from my table with such a jolt that I alarmed my ferrets. What a frisson that folded cloth imparted, with its rakish angle, and its sensual and daring folds. I imagined them as silken blades, descending to my face and slicing into my flesh with malicious delight -ah, what an ecstasy that would be! As my reverie ended I realized that I had no idea how to reproduce Mr. Baier's exquisite pocketing appurtenance - how did he achieve the slight angle that directed the pocket squares long axis ever so slightly towards his tie? I conducted several experiment with my own pocket squares, but try as I might I could not fathom the technique that Mr. Baier must employ. Pray, brothers, can you help me?

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?112186-Open-letter-to-the-AE-CEO-No-more-shoe-bags-with-new-shoes-Really/page2
In case anyone was worried - the CEO of Allen-Edmonds has provided this exceptionally whiny, entitled iGent with a free pair of shoe bags (a $10 value). To Mr. Grangaard's credit he does imply that the iGent in question may have been too stupid too look underneath the shoes for them.
