Seriously - Is there such a thing as Andyland 'Trad' ?

The Japanese meant something different, as did Flusser, when they/he used the term...

Others then got it wrong & were encouraged in their folly for comedic & exploitative effect online...

I don't get it.

I like Traditional American Style...   What is all this new fangled rubbish?

... Help?

The Andymen Trads embrace the glorious tradition of Bill's Khakis, which were the garment of choice for lithe-limbed young college men in the 50s and 60s. This is all the more precious and authentic given the fact that Bill's was founded in 1990. Even time itself cannot defeat the Trads!

Great thread, but haven't we had this one 72 times already?  Is there really something to be gained by talking about a style of clothing worn by about 100 guys?

Of course there is. It exists.

Whether or not it's real, authentic, made-up, whimsical, weird, shop-worn, traditional, vexing, amusing or something else not yet discovered is a different question.

But there is such thing as Andyland Trad.

If there isn't, what do you call this?

Oh Per, our Svenska Hunkska!! What is he eating, a plate of tentacles? And M. de Robespierre, the guy you posted is my absolute favorite, he looks like the kind of guy who would get fired from NPR for swearing while discussing community gardens. The Andyites long ago compared him to Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice, a juxtaposition that I will allow readers to evaluate on their own.

But Cards, who are the "real" Andyland trads? Orgetorix, Trip, Wisco and the Rambler? Mcarthur looks like he buys all his clothes at PetCo but he's practically the king of the Trads, where does he factor in? Really it seems to me that we have two kinds of trad over at Axe Andy:

- Heterodox forum trad, defined as whatever the people in the Trad WAYW thread are wearing.
- Orthodox forum trad, defined as the forum-specific version of traditional American, that is, blazers and chinos and sack suits, and loafers.

Re: Seriously - Is there such a thing as Andyland 'Trad' ?

I have not visited Andyland (other than clicking on FNB links) since I was banned by the psychpathic accountant moderator. I dared to criticise a poly/cotton undershirt that was marketed to the Andyland Trads by a friend of his. These idiots belong in mental institutions.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.
