Re: Seriously - Is there such a thing as Andyland 'Trad' ?

Dear me, that Mr. Cardinal is growing on me!

In England, of course, the Sack is the suit that's not a suit. It looks all square and normal from a distance, but then you get up close & see that it's full of perplexing little details that make it something 'other'. Oh the frowns that a pronounced 3/2 lapel roll can garner from those who think they know about clothes... Harmless fun!

Re: Camp - We just don't have it over here. Unless it's the Boy Scounts. Not my cup of tea.

And I still owe Mr. Cardinal more answers to his questions...

Stirring up the 'Southern Trad' thing again might be fun?

But first I shall fill in some tax returns...

Later -

Yeah, I don't rate Pollock either anymore. Bit like Boyer - One interesting thing which the more you read the more you just think... Meh.

^^ So I've accomplished in a single thread what you couldn't in 7 years?  Does that make me the master of the ivy-trad-tnsil on-line universe?

Am I the man who out-trolled Russell_Street by simply responding to this thread?

I am relatively sure that once you chase a style around it was never yours, at least from a social/cultural standpoint. If there is a single issue that the "Trads" and just about every other clothing clique has it's that it gets completely hooked on laundry lists and minutiae. It's all superficial stuff. There is a lot more to the superficiality of clothing styles than just about anyone around here guesses. But because most are frightened of the truth or their relative positions to the truth, they will grind their wheels for the rest of their lives and wear their clothes like a current costume reenactment.

No... They just laugh at all of this.

I provide them with a floorshow & they just sit back and smirk.

There is a reason why I put this on 'The Wardrobe' & not 'Talk Ivy'. It was to hit a different sector of 'lurker'.

What we like is that YOU care.

It's good that 'Trad' means a lot to you.

... And as for me... Nobody has a clue what I really think.
