postal issues

Im getting a bit sick myself of these arseholes who dont want to ship there clothes anywhere but the USA - look at these beautiful saddle shoes whcih would do me a treat but the geezer only sends to USA - what the fuck? very frustrating and more commonplace IMO.

Re: postal issues

Some sellers have the idea that if they only sell to US customers, they can track down and kill the bastard if it turns out to be a fraud. That, and there are many stories of fraud involving sales to certain countries (particularly Italy and Greece). In most cases, the buyer will claim not to have received the item and demand a refund. All this combined with the fact that the US market itself is so big, sellers sometimes forgo the higher prices they could command in the international market for more security (or seemingly more security).

Re: postal issues

I think those much needed questions need to be asked.

Are you over 6ft 3?

Can you bench-press more than your body  weight?

Do you have a criminal record or history of mental illness?

Answer yes to all the above and you can call me what you like Velux...I mean Sir.

Not too keen on the way this is going (even if Harpo is finding some entertainment value in it).  I think a bit of Hands-Across-The-Ocean is in order.

Thank you to Michael for his input.

Re: postal issues

I have to back Michael on this a little bit - frustrating though it can be.  Getting everything weighed then not selling it must be a bigger pain in the arse than granting a request to do a B-I-N and the idiot not go through with the transaction.

Re: postal issues

I think I'd only sell to the UK. Look at all that shit Tom had with his printer! Ebay is a pile of crap. It's only the odd seller that makes it worth looking.

Re: postal issues

I must say that my experience shipping overseas has been overwhelmingly positive. In a year of frequent selling I have only had a couple of instances where people have tried to screw me over. They weren't all international buyers either, and both times PayPal covered me for my loses.  The way I see it, no need to bury the good customers in red tape because of a few bad apples. Just make a watch list and keep selling. This isn't rare diamond importation.
