Re: Plain-toe Gunships

I find watching someone who is really good at their trade or craft absolutely fascinating. I was chatting with a guy tying trout flies and marveling at his ability to carry on a conversation while doing this delicate work.

Otter : Take it easy, I'm pre-law.
Boon : I thought you were pre-med.
Otter : What's the difference?

What do you say to your son when he asks you "Why do you have a pair of shoes on the table when we eat, Daddy?"

"McQueen's message was signaled through subtraction... in a tweed or herringbone jacket and a ribbed swearer he had an electric austerity".

Re: Plain-toe Gunships

Stevee seems concerned that l could be a maniac. Even if l were a complete and utter maniac (l might even be wink ), no-one else seems bothered by it except you old boy. Sometimes maniacs are good. wink

Nearly everyone in life is a maniac. Look how people drive in peak hour traffic, and how people lose their tempers and how people lie and treat each other badly. Many people are stressed and unbalanced in their behaviour as a result. All this maniac stuff seems new to you Steve, so the question is...where have you been living old boy? Anyone living in the real world knows that maniacs are a dime a dozen these days.

SMF carries a picture of Steve McQueen hanging on the old barbed wire, in his wallet. He often looks at it in times of struggle and asks "what would Stevie do?". So I wouldn't worry too much Shooey.

You know, I'd never have noticed that without you pointing it out. Even so, I'd still much rather wear Patricks. Don't judge me Shooey.

Re: Plain-toe Gunships

Fuck the gaps, Loake I like and had a wonderful pair of black smooths back in 2005.  A ten quid lucky charity shop buy in one of the harder Derbyshire towns, I wore them with flannels, button-down and navy blazer.  Easy to find new, too.  I'm just thinking, with the lack - so far - of ice underfoot of taking the Florsheim out for a walk.  Last seen in Nottingham last October.
