Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

I haven't worn socks since 2009 so that's not really an option for me. Instead Ive been introducing Lexol into my diet (just a shot with my Corn Flakes) which allows me to sweat it out of my feet (that's right, feet plural with an ee!) and into my shoes completely naturally.

Another plus point is that when little beads of Lexol start appearing on my forehead in business meetings I can pass it off as Arsenic poisoning, which impresses my colleagues who now assume I have a jealous lover or arch nemesis.

Anybody on here own up to having written this one?

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117022-New-Norman-Hilton.-Eh.
Tripples conducts an auto-da-fe for Hardline 42, who dared to suggest that a fine clothier other than Sid Mashburn might be worth considering. I am always amused by Hardline's location line, which says "somewhere between Princeton and Penn." Trenton? Ewing? Anyway, Tripples appears to be re-inventing himself as the acerbic Vox Sartoria of Andyland. I know Vox, and you, Tripples, are no Vox; also, Vox is an unbearable narcissistic goblin anyway.

Protip: this was not a shoe-shine, this was a botched assassination.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117670-An-introduction-to-all-of-you-lovely-people!
New user "SocraticLove" introduces himself to Andyland, explains how Andy's exhaustively typset encyclopedia changed his life, and mentions an upcoming "convocation ceremony" that led him to examine his sartorial conscience. I hope we get to see pictures, and to find out what a "convocation ceremony" is! Or maybe not!

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?116984-Travelling-to-the-UK-warm-coat-suggestions
An Andyman from Texas assumes that cool weather in the UK will require some kind of specialized technical garment or Downton Abbey friendly attiring solution; he asks Andyland to recommend some mail order wool coats. The suggestions are just delightful.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117641-Corozo-Buttons-Informational-Thread!
Andyland summer shill-fest 2012 - a thread on corozo buttons. Trip declares himself "unexpectedly fascinated"; Kabbaz cracks some hilarious jokes and then attempts to cast a pall over a visiting corozo expert. I don't really even know how to describe what's going on here. It makes sense to me only because I have spent so long face-down in the iridescent scum of Andyland. But imagine trying to explain this discussion to a cop.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117671-POCKET-SQUARES-PLEASE-HELP-ME-PICK-OUT-SOME
A nice  Son of Sam feel in this depressing thread about guys who can't pick out their own pocket squares and who spend a long time wondering about matching colors.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

It seems an awful palaver sending a box of ties all around the place - especially as they only want those stripy, repp ones -just buy or' thrift' a few and be done with it.

SF have now started a similar idea.

"Florid, smug, middle-aged golf club bore in this country I'd say. Propping up the 19th hole in deepest Surrey bemoaning the perils of immigration."

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

I feel sorry for retailers, especially small ones, who deal with the iGentry so I will always give OConnell's a free pass.

I think the "tie box" is a clever idea, but also extremely creepy. Some of you guys should sign up and insert a horrible looking tie which technically conforms with the rules of tie box but profoundly violates the spirit of those rules.

"These are the rules of tie box: Number one, you do not talk about tie box..."

Talk about a site being full of its own shit.  Who made Ask Antsy the king of forums?  CC perhaps?

Human beings are so full of shit in general, that's why l have given up talking and listening to most of them. They are 5 percenters!

lndustry people laugh at the clothing forums. Shoomen, tailors, and the sellers who know what they are on about.
