The fit, look and shoe design of the G&G is impeccable. Imo there are no goodyear welted shoes that look better. Tony is a shoe design genious of the highest order.
The Edward Green uppers are better quality from my experience, but l haven't studied enough G&G pairs to make a fully conclusive statement.
They talk about using italian tanned leather. Any idea if this is Ilcea? In my experience Ilcea make some outstanding boxcalf.
I'm not a fan. I know they're popular on here, and also with certain groups of the iGentry, but I find neither their styling nor their finishing is overly appealing. Their styles are too fashion oriented in opposite to EG but they do not have the cutting edge to compete with brands like Santoni. The shoes I've handeled so far didn't seem of very high quality espacially the leather and the quality of the handwork left a lot to be desired. Their lasts are boring and uninspired, which I never understood with regard to Tony Gaziano's reputation. They'll never win me over but I wish them all the best, they're friendly people with a heart for their craft, though too businesss-oriented from what I've heard and how I judge their expansion.

G&G's RTW shoes seem appreciably less expensive than EG. I note that they are offered only in E width and up to size 12 (UK). I have a feeling they might be a little too small for my size 13D (US) feet.
Nice looking shoes, though.

I have not tried Meccariello yet. I got a pair of Bontonis recently with the Meccariello type finish and I think its incredible but a bit OTT.
I find all their current range too Italianized for my liking.
Do G&G have wide fitting lasts or designs? I thought that they did but the Captain's comments suggest that they don't.
