I test drove a mate's last week - the manual version, I didn't exprience any problems and can turn on six pence. The more expensive 1.3 automatic gets a bad write up in reviews.

Yes.  Love to see the pic.  I love the Ghias Boatshoe.  I recall a cute girl I used to occasionally see zipping around my old neighborhood in a Ghia, years ago.  I always hoped I'd see her at the gas station or the store, so I could strike up a conversation, but she was elusive.  I'd only hear the distinct VW sound coming and then she'd be out of sight.

Nice BMW. Even ugly cars can be good cars, as long as they have character. The mass rollout of most cars now all look the same, and quite costly at that...it is like buying chinese made clothing from departments stores.

These days the slaves all dress the same and drive the same cars.

So get this - her 240 wouldn't start today when she tried to go to lunch.  Sounds like a battery.  I do remember looking at her battery and thinking "Damn, that thing looks really old."  Fingers crossed that's the issue.

Oh man.  That sure is nice doghouse.  Cars like to be driven.  I love that buttery yellow.  I've got a color like that in mind for my pickup, when I get around to making it presentable.
