What's the cigar, btw?
Bolivar No.2 was my sainted atheist Uncle George's fave, but this is bigger than that.
God, I hope it's a Cuban!

Ah ha! Trad for the everyman! With a dash of preppiness (madras).
See, we're not all so uptight, and rule bound...
Trad, Bone, and all that.
Trad for everyone!
Brahmins, Bum Boys, Mods 'n' Skins, Media creatives, Tokyo Joes, Our brothers of the Old Religion, Jazzers, Junkies, Saturday Night Boys from Hoxton, Family Guys & Kosher Goys!
Let's have a party!

Gentlemums,
I have paroled your fora and wonder what is the beast hand to misterbate with?
Pip Pip -
I say let them do it.
No, really.
Let "Trad" be what it is... (Not much).
Let Ivy League fans log on to 'GOTerry.com' ...
... Or join me down the pub.
The more they claim for "Trad" the less it is. The more class/religion/politics they try to graft on to it the more like a wannabee's wank it looks.
Ahhhhh - But it coulda bin somethin'!
^ That's an astounding post, Terry.
Hits the nail on the head.
TV
Again, that's very fair, Brownshoe...
"Trad" has to decide what it actually is & police itself, I think.
At the moment it's an internet joke & I really don't like that as I wear all this stuff myself...
... And there's nothing funny about me...
Still, I'm out of it now.
"Trad" can be what it wants to be. It's clearly only ever going to be "Trad" tho'. unless things really change.
You raise good points Mr. Lean, but I just look at it as one of the very few places to discuss this stuff without perplexed and bored innocent bystanders wanting to throw me out of a window. The goofy ideology I do my best to ignore.
They're mostly good guys with worthwhile things to contribute. I really believe that.
I'll drop my defense, I think we understand each other. Just don't like to see the baby thrown out with the bathwater.
What is the most trad bathwater, by the way? Imported from Nantucket?
Yours in Ivy and admiration,
Brownshoe

I enjoyed re-reading this thread. But I would like to note that we don't refer to it as "trad" here...it's IVY FOR EVERYONE!
I'm still a Joe fan.
But I pick up the point - "Trad" is AAAT's thing isn't it? 2004 & counting. We've never really done it here.
... Snappy name though. And it means...?
