Another beautiful minty looking coat that would be mine if it were a few sizes smaller. It deserves to go to a good home:

A great bargain Invertere coat here, if you like that sort of thing, which I do.....crap photos but looks to be okay apart from the lining needs a stitch

^ Yes, would fit me. Thanks.
That is a cool jacket!!
I almost always agree with you, WM, but that jacket makes me shudder. I just can't get behind that tweed. I associate it too strongly with the landed gentry here in the UK: it's prolific around Knightsbridge, Sloane Square, etc., and conjours up images of women in riding boots, men in those Barbours with the shoulder flaps... people who think of themselves as 'equestrian'.
I'm sure the connotation doesn't hold across the pond, and I do wish I could get over myself in this respect and just see it for its aesthetic value.
The check is just subtle enough. No gentry associations for me. I could see on a more pronounced check and I can get where you're coming from Mightymax, but I'd wear the shit outta that jacket if it was my size. I love the colors. I'd wear it with some navy or khaki chinos and a white button down shirt and pennies and put it in its place! It's not like it's got slanted pockets and a ticket pocket.

I love both of the jackets you've just posted, WM, no qualms there at all! I think it's that particular shade of green coupled with a very open check I don't like.
Kinston1an, yep, that's what it conjures up for me, that Cordings look. Now I know you're into that I'm hesitant to be so vitriolic about it but yeah, it's complete anathema to me.

Good to know. And I wasn't trying to get you to justify your tastes or anything.
I actually think green is a great colour for a jacket, I've just bought a green herringbone Brooks sack. It's yet to arrive but I'll post some pics when it does, as long as it fits, or can be made to.
MM you really could give Chenners a run for his money when it comes to syllables!
Dont worry WM is sending me the definitions of any I struggle with, Im too embarrassed to ask infront of all of you.
Y'all know I can barely read or right. I make strange guttural sounds which Mrs. WM has become very adept at translating and then typing for me. Should have heard the sounds I was emitting when I saw all those old J. Press shots from the Life magazine Russell Street posted. FFFFFLOORRRRGGGHH!!! MARRRGGGHHUMMPH!! HAAARRRRRUMPHHH!! FFFOOOORRRRGGGG!!!
Only for the very narrow (the seller has a couple more, and they don't seem to be selling so it could be worth bartering):
