Thanks. Yes, it was an ebay find - a bit of a steal realy as they go for stupid money now. It's in near perfect nick too.

Ah, gone are the days were you could just stroll into your local Army & Navy Surplus store and snag a nice duffel (or parka, if you're that way inclined).
Homerun, Harpo! Looks killer on you man.
Holy grail!

Just noticed the darts on close inspection... that would make a killer sack jacket though. I still very much dig!

I've been teetering on the edge with this jacket, but there's something funny with the shoulders...

/\ unusual batik, I wonder if it just needs a pressing ... maybe you can ask for permission to return it if the shoulders are not right. It is very Thunderball.
I tried in vain to get more info from the seller but he doesn't answer questions properly and doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about (blaming the 17.5" shoulder measurement, etc.) He sent many photos of the jacket turned inside out and it still looks weird to me...

I think I'll probably pass on it because of the shoulder construction (can't tell if it's padding, extra fabric, bad alteration) and I'm not partial to double vents.
I'd pass Oliver. It's a neat piece to look at, but it is quite hideous IMO.

Haha, it would strictly be cocktail attire. Not for everyday wear. I used to have a tropical batik jacket that I bought at a vintage shop in Miami. I guess I'll stick to madras at the tiki bars these days!

WM, have you seent eh size 38 pincord corduroy 3/2 jacket on Etsy?
Quite a hip collegiate looking sack and it's been tempting me as well...
Haven't seen it. Don't browse Etsy too much. I'll take a peak.
I already have a perfect cord sack so it's been sitting in my favorites too, Wooly. You can probably knock a few bucks off the top as I've been speaking with the seller and there's a bit of discoloration to the cord across the back; looks to be from hanging storage. I still may go for it as I like the thin needlecord pattern. It's easier to dress up then a wider wale corduroy.
I think I saw the one you're talking about, and the shoulders would definitely be too broad for me.
Nice Cricketeer with tags here, maybe not to worn in Wimbledon?

Haha. That's cool, but those primary color jackets, like the red one recently, are just tricky things.
