Still a bit pricey for an odd jacket - it's got a tiny moth hole on the rear too - but I'm looking forward to it!
Had a feeling that might be headed your way Oliver. Too dear for my pocket, but perfect measurements.
Sorry to nab it, Tom!
I just put an offer in on a killer handloomed Scottish tweed knit tie in subtle shades of pumpkin, green and gold to match. Really hope that I take it.
That's a cool jacket, Oliver. You don't often see too much of the good old Abercrombie stuff.
Next up on the neverending wishlist!
Forgive my laziness, but what to the HB trousers run? About $300? I've drooled over them myself.
$265 + tax/sh = pretty close to $300
I almost pulled the trigger on those grey shetland trousers last month, but I was able to resist. If I can affor dot next month, I think I'll bag the top pair in oatmeal to match with that autumnal tweed sack. I just want to splurge and by them both though, ha!
I've been trying to sell some old Italian suits on eBay to pay for this stuff.
For me it would be $265 + tax/sh = pretty close to $300 + $75 alterations
Do you really spend that much on pants alterations?!?
Even if my tailor took them apart and completely recut the pattern it wouldn't run me that high... you should never be paying more than $20-25 MAX(!!) for any amount of tapering anywhere incl. taking in/out seat, thighs, etc. and $10 MAX(!!) for a hem. I hope you were exagerrating because if not... find another tailor!!
I've had trousers taken down 2 sizes (36-32) for less than half that much.
You're paying WAY too much brother!
I do the same for $25.
Jesus man. I'm getting ripped! I'm going to have to find someone new anyway. I'm just gonna say "I need all this done for $25."
Well, I'm also usually paying for a ton of items at the same time. I could be mistaken that I'm spending $75 on one pair of pants. But I think it's around that.
Sorry i got the £ to $ conversion wrong
£30 is about $48 but its still cheaper.
That's just shy of $30 USD which is reasonable. I probably pay about that too.
$75 is unheard of though... I can have 3-4 pairs of pants done for that price. I usually get a bit of a discount when I bring in lots of work. I always pay cash also and ask to knock the taxes off.
I don't want to think about this anymore.
Maybe it's because WM's pants are 14" higher than all of ours.
I think you're getting charged by the yard.
Go ahead, pour salt in my wounds.
