Hmmmm... It could work.  Not really a fan myself, but I think it could look good under a tweed, like the example above.

Not really a fan AC - always tricky when a loved one buys you something you don't like - how garish is the colour scheme? I'm after a Fairisle tank-top, myself.

This is the reason i always tell her not to buy me clothes.
It is quite Garish as it has orange in it FFS.

Re: An Argyle sweater!!!

I thought you had been married for years AC?

Mrs Woof long since realised the futility of trying to buy me clothing as presents or, come to it, any sort of surprise gift as I tend to be so exacting about all my possessions. She doesn't even bother; there have been too many occasions when, on unwrapping the item, my face has said it all. We usually celebrate birthdays by taking each other away for the weekend.

As for the jumper, I should wear it at Christmas and birthday. I shall expect a photo on ISFT.

Re: An Argyle sweater!!!

I had a smedley diamond roll neck, not sure it is classed as argyle as I think that needs the lines on it too, looked good with denim and cords but I think I put it on ebay or tried to and think I struggled to off load it? Also have a purple Pringle v-neck one which was incredibly warm, but i sold that, it was a bit too golf - and I actually don't mind a round.

Re: An Argyle sweater!!!

Just return the favor AC, and buy her the most hideous blouse or skirt you can find.

Re: An Argyle sweater!!!

Just bought one.  Shetland.  Pitlochry.  A nice sweater and cheap at the price.  Also, I want to give wearing a crew neck one more try but do not want to pay over the odds, for Smith or Odie.  I do love Argyle socks and still have two pairs of Falke from years ago.  I did once own a Brooks v-neck Argyle (circa 2008 or thereabouts), which I passed on, if memory serves me well, to Hard Bop Hank.
This is part of my drive for a softer, preppier look.
