"And so the story goes
they wore the clothes
They said the things
to make it seem improbable"
A huge fan of Bowie, especially his 70s stuff...
Bowie was the kind of character that only the British could create, and only the British working-class at that...
His type won't be seen again in pop music...
Bowie's genius doesn't have anything to do with him being british working class. As his parents moved into middle class anyway before he started out. He was a genius, fullstop. He could have been from anywhere from any class.
Well, there was certainly something special that incubated pop and rock talent in the UK during the swinging 60s.
The Beatles were working class lads made good, The Rolling Stones were middle class grammar school boys gone bad.
The Dutch news focused on Bowie's "impoverished" childhood and the "mean" streets where he grew up yesterday. Not quite true, but nothing gets the Dutch media going more than contrasting relative poverty overseas with the Netherlands.

People say they are talented singer and song writers, but they are no such thing. These celebrity types have been known to admit their abilities are not their own because they are channelled from other places. Their voices and songs are not their own because they have entities working through them to give them their abilities. Many entertainers fully admit it and it can be looked up online.
Shooey - why did you have to burn your records, wouldnt it have been enough to give them away?
