Negative points for spelling "polloi" incorrectly.

Ahhh..they looked black on my screen...even now I've read the title they still look black.. anyway disregard the question..
Both those shirt clothes look good to me.
I've been debating whether to get the Benson and Clegg, East India Company blazer buttons for awhile now. The bronze version.
Sadly, the days when I approach total strangers and regail them with stories of my adventures gun running in the South China Seas are long over. Besides that, I had just taken an Oxazepam and whisky for the flight.
Anyway, eventually got around to it.....blazer button swopping!
It took me awhile, but I did plummet for the East India Co. and the St George defeating the dragon one.
I took FNB's caution to the wind, mainly because the specific blazer I have in mind, will benefit from the dull bronze dulcit tones of the East India buttons. The overly complex design is a risk, but the symbolism may prove worth it.
Interesting, Hep. I'd say the reverse... top is the best. I wear this look, in a single-breasted jacket, often, especially in summer. Maybe it's more of a stateside thing?
The problem with the top one is the white trousers, off white or beige is good, but the contrast is too much for a Brit, or maybe just me. It say's sportsman, down at the club, doing some linesman duties or attending some annual meeting about changing the greens for some plastic turf. I might add, I am far from sporty, so have no idea what goes on the world of sporting clubs, but I imagine its quite ghastly.
The chap below, has a blazer that can be dressed up and down in the Alan Whicker mode of intrepid jet-set traveller and has some nice room in it. He also happens to look like I did in my mid-20s, including the high line and specs.
I think the tie is the problem with the top one, it's quite formal ....as is a DB blazer, whilst the white duck trousers and suede shoes are on the casual side. Plus everything's starkly blue and white. A madras or colourful stripe tie would break it up
Good point, Woof. When I do the blazer and stone twills combo, it's with some kind of blue ocbd or ppbd and a darker tie, to quiet it all down a bit.
Both look dressed in a costume/fancy dress/I want to look like someone who I am not way.
The DB guy more obviously - tryhard wannabe "Ivy". Probably a small town/flyover state Jock type.
The SB guy with a typical Shitlib face, his GF (if he has one) also wears stupid Nerd glasses.
Shitlib, that's a new one on me, I see its in the Urban Dictionary and has it's own Twitter #. The types are everywhere I am afraid.
The nerd glasses fashion can't last much longer methinks. They're also a bugger to wear in the summer as they start sliding down your nose with sweat. There's a reason they went of fashion after the 70s and such as styles as the Highway became popular. The problem I have, being a bald headed eagle looking chap, I need something to offset the harsh stern face now my youth is gone. If I wear rimless glasses, or those without much of a frame, I end up looking like a Gestapo interrogator.
And why would that be a bad thing?

Dylan Matthews and Pyjamaboy - bet they are on AAAC, although discussing bespoke suits might feel to "elitist" for their taste
I hate jeans with a blazer...just screams "dad". I love that chaps loafers though.
The other pic is a bit too Boycott for me.
What do we think to window pane patterned trews with a blazer?
