A bag....over one's head! Ghastly IMO.
I think where G&G are successful is when they stick in the confines of English tradition with minor touches of style that mark them out as cut above the crowd, but Tim Little has also done this with his TL14 toe cap oxford/Gibson which is a boring office work shoe with significant added zest. It's an aesthete's delight and cormfy too.
Where G&G fail, is when the Italian side of the yin & yang starts to dominate and it becomes all pretension and wasp like soles.
As I new shoemaker I suppose they have to be constantly innovating and can't play the traditional card too much.
G&G have a tendency to go all Iti-Berlutti on us but then they probably have a crop of skin-headed Jason Stathams, Wayne Rooneys (their missuses), and assorted pig-shit thick, blood-sucking bankers to fit and please - get the brown leather to 'match' a blue suit - just to get your tongue in a twist over nowt.
