you know who the biggest freak in that scene, and there were many major all-time freaks in that scene, was?  Bunker Spreckels, total madman .....

I kept looking through this book about him last year ... saw some more pics of this space honcho surfer today and it reminded me .....

this heir to a sugar fortune's stepfather was Clark Gable ... he went all the way out there into total weirdness and paid the price .... started out as Ivy as could be as a kid and then blammo!

the trunks look nice too ... so do the five-pocket cords and the surf jackets ...

If anyone's interested, I'll let you know what the fit is like after my order comes. ^ If they fit as groovy as they look, I'm set for a lazy summer--although I suspect there may be a new pair of trunks in my future, later in the season.
