Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

While dodging thorns every time you come and go would annoy most people, it fits in with Jeremy's slightly eccentric image - a man who has no time to bother much with anything other than politics, happy to eat a tin of beans etc....

What did you expect? A big England flag hanging out of the window?

Most politicians - left and right - are braver men than me. Cycling to work in London every day...

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Well, I would have preferred some suburban bay windows rather than the unkempt entrance to Compo's man cave.

I had a colleague briefly who had worked for Islington Council, he said that Corbyn was notorious for insisting on cycling everywhere, so he would be putting in 4-5 hour r/t expenses for attending meetings. And his other claim to fame, along with agitating the Union convernors to action, was insisting on access in some building or other at the weekends, which resulted in some doors and alarms being left off over the weekend and all the computers where then robbed with no alarm sounding.

I might not agree with all of his politics, but I would be surprised if Jeremy was a big time 'trougher' or if he had all his assets tied up in a trust - like Wedgewood Benn - to avoid inheritance tax.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

It's looking like Corbyn's going to use the thermal detonator: use his Momentum power base to purge the constituency parties, the PLP and then bring the right kind of candidates into his party. Magnificent Stalinesque move. Game over Labour.

I will be keeping a close watch on any sartorial moves outside of his signature blandness today. I do hope someone found time to prune that rose bush in his front garden, those thorns are a Health & Safety incident just waiting to happen.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

I did think that Cameron's quip welcoming the new MP for Tooting to her first Prime Ministers Question Time and advising her 'to keep her mobile switched on today as you might be in the Shadow Cabinet by the end of the afternoon' was his best ever parliamentary gag.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Hasbara crap is a complete irrelevance in the Labour leadership issue. It is just a good opportunity for them to get airtime.

Nobody believes a pathological liar like Mark Regev anyway.

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

Even then, the weasel had no issue with Corbyn anyway

"
Regex was sent the speech after it was delivered but before he talked to Thornberry.

According to the BBC, Regev had “no issue” with Corbyn’s comment and did not believe the Labour leader had been comparing Israel to Isis."

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

I read it last week by a coincidence. It's superb. I'm neither a socialist nor a champagne drinker. Although by the standards of the tabloids, anyone who has the slightest concern for anything other than their own well-being whilst having a level of affluence above that of the homeless is a champagne socialist.

The one I read is Chavs - highly recommended. I will look out for the one mentioned above (I'm think I've seen it in one of my local charity shops).

Re: The Jeremy Corbyn sartorial thread

I noticed that Corbyn had smartened his look up last week, a crisp blue suit at PM question times and some other appearances. But as you all now know, behind the mild mannered janitor there was Hong Kong Phoey.
