Don't care for them.
Not a fan of punching only detail.

Yup. There was an Allen Edmonds model that was stylistically similar and I didn't care for it either.

Sounds very right.
Maybe they wanted to created a very elegant Brogue-ish shoe without the Gastropub/Range Rover connotations.
