T&A red shirt: opinions

http://turnbullandasser.eu/shirt-whdkpi-zephyr-fchk-classic-fit-classic-t-a-collar-3-button-cuff-6

I want this one, to wear under a dark green or navy sweater, with or withour a tweed jacket.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

Not keen on micro-checks. A bit gutless. Could work as a BD for summer perhaps.

T&A's OTR prices are ridiculous.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

The are, but (unlike in their "seasonal" range) they get the colours and patterns right.

Something is just about "right", when it comes to their products.

Cant wait to buy the "evergreen" sweater.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

They make some nice stuff to be sure. And the T&A collar is very nice.

But, its a thumbs down for micro-checks I'm afraid.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

I have the black and also the orange shirts in microcheck and I am tempted by the red as well.

Go for it! I say.

I'm likely to be getting some of the ginghams next week, the blue one's. Look great. Also some of the classic range of stripe ties and I am also still considering the Benson & Clegg ancient madder ties for the winter season.

Some of the T&A prices as Formby say's are ridiculous, especially the jumpers. The seasonal shirts you should wait for the sales. But you are getting something for the extravagance that is a cut above the rest of the Jermyn Street shirtmakers.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

I find the three button cuffs quite subtle, its the taper on them that keeps it quietly understated.

The collars are ideal for me as they hide the operational scar on my neck.

Don't be put-off from the seasonal shirts, definitely wait for the sales though, there are plenty of shirts that could pass in their classic collection. And your getting cloth that you would need to go bespoke elsewhere for and you highly likely wouldn't get the same quality of construction than T&A. Which puts their shirt prices in some perspective.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

the seasonal shirts dont go along with my ties. the classic shirts are so wonderfully classic, and most of them available as button cuff for weekends. on H&H and H&K button cuffs, the cuffs
are too tight when worn with a watch. t&a fit nicely.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

Hi FNB, a white shirt of highest quality is actually a relief for me after looking at the T&A creations.

Fully agree that I "demonstrate a great deal of ignorance around how fashion operates". To be frank, I am absolutely not interested in fashion, not at all. And I am also not a missionary. Feel free to peacock, as you keep on mentioning in your local culture that seems to be needed ("to get noticed"). Here, people know who I am.

I think Talk Ivy would be too buttoned down for you, Beestonplace. You are more of a free spirit.

Besides, you have a good double act running here with FNB.

Re: T&A red shirt: opinions

no no if FNB hates me so much, because I dont admire him for being noticed by eldery Trump-type American businessmann (Blake Carrington jaw, robot handshakes), then I will go and make new friends with the OCD japanese "vintage denim" trad crowd.

If Anne Frank and Edward Snowdon could do it, I can do it.
