Cola drinks have no appeal to me. I already have more than enough sugar and caffeine in my life from 2 or 3 Italian coffees a day, which whilst being unnecessary from a nutritional perspective, do taste delicious and form a perfect conclusion to a nice meal.

However most people I know - excluding Italians - cannot enjoy decent coffee without ruining it by mixing it with all sorts of crap. And view with wonder and disgust the drinking of Italian coffee minus such garbage.

That doesn't really contradict, or contrast with, anything I have written.

Yes I am nearfarsighted

I always find it mildly irritating and yet quite quaint when visiting the UK for business or family, you ask for a coffee you get some nescafe creamy nutty instant thing. When you haven't had it regularly for years the effects on the tastebuds are somewhat shocking.

True Brits drink tea.

The coffee aroma is pleasant but I don't really give a toss about coffee.

I need a tannin hit.
