Summer's around the proverbial bend. I'm not sure I'll wear my Birdwell jacket. Doesn't somehow feel right here in the urban east coast. I wonder if I'd be able to pass it off (for a price) to a forum member? I dunno--mebbe I'd change my mind with the right weather and poolside environment.

/\ that jacket is going to be right on in a few weeks, opening day of baseball season, at night, temperature around 60 degrees, going out on the Chesapeake, going to North Carolina, if you don't feel it you don't feel it but East Coast has its own surf history and people wore Birdwells ...
that Birdwell can't be more out of place on the East Coast than it was in the Midwest ... just wait until the spring and the arrival of the green leaves .....
you're overdue for a long walk on the beach in a fresh breeze in early-to-mid-spring ... I had a nylon sailing/surf jacket when I was in college, it features in some of my best spring break shots from April '81 .... you already bought it, it doesn't take up much space, if it fits alright, try to wear the hell out of it man
that's what I would try to do ...

Okay, thanks, sh. You are most certainly likely to be right. I could see doing an Orioles game this spring in that jacket along with a surfer T and my old Braves cap. And yes, we are overdue for a trip to a Carolina beach or like place.

I agree with stan, don't give in to this moment of weakness... When that hot breeze starts blowin and you can pair it with some nice khaki shorts, the right pair of sneaks... you'd kick yourself for getting rid of it! I'll be wearing mine in the Big Apple this summer for sure, once I'm out of uniform for the really hot months...

In all likelihood, I won't do khaki shorts, but lightweight khaki chinos most definitely. Those, my Vans, a light T-shirt, and a ball cap... sounds about right to me.

Chip, I got the light blue with white. Very happy with it, didn't get to wear it as much as I wanted last summer so looking forward to using it a lot this year!
