Leeds San co co. New Briggate Street. North of Kirkgate market
English breakfast. Sausages cut along the length for some strange reason. Beans and tomato in separate bowls. Very nice bread. You have to ask for the brown sauce though. A welcome alternative to Wetherspoons breakfast in a city centre without many independent cafes.
The River Cafe. No not that one

Newcastle Mark Toney. They do ice cream as well but never tried that.

Toby carvery is great. One near me gave a 33% discount on the already low prices after you had been there once. Decent beers too. Consequently very popular with families at weekends.

I have noticed an increase in the number of fish and chip shops, which is good news provided they are selling fish and not offering fish along with pies etc.
Barbers and chip shops seem to be two businesses that are more evident on our streets these days.

Gino's Cafe opposite Marylebone Station is a good feeding point if you are ever in the area, perhaps visiting John Simons. Great cafe food at reasonable prices, dished up double quick.

Thanks. I have used Marylebone frequently but never noticed that Cafe. Seashell fish and chips nearby in Lisson Grove is pretty good too. Not much in St Johns Wood or nearer Lords cricket ground though.

Willow tea rooms Glasgow.
Fantastic place. A nice pot of tea for the price of a crap Starbucks coffee. Inexpensive sandwiches and cakes to go with it. Rennie Mackintosh architecture.
If it was in London they would charge a fortune. One branch sadly closed now.

Tea bags are passable (unlike instant coffee) but it's definitely inferior to tea made with leaves. I find it incredible - yet unsurprising - that the UK's most famous drink is rarely made in a quality manner, at home or in cafes etc.

Egham on toast, Egham (geddit?) All day breakfast £5.70. Nice sausage, but sleepy Egham lacks the buzz of a city centre cafe. Went here because it was closed the last time we went past (shortly after lunchtime).
