Sublime rigs from Berkeley. Love that jacket, Walker!
^ Greatness at work.
Double dimpled tie throws things off for me somehow. That said, that suit is stellar, love a good pink and red shirt/tie combo, great shoes with that gray tweed, prime stuff walker...
^walker, that is a damn fine look. it's hard to rock a full tweed windowpane without looking costumish or hipsterish, but you do it well here. it probably looks even better when you're more relaxed and not standing at attention for a photo, as all of us instinctually are inclined to do.

hair is getting long again
^i was wearing a brooks pink oxford and an elderly woman came up to me and said that her (apparently deceased) husband had worn them for many years and she hadn't seen one in a long time and that it was so comforting to see one again especially on someone who wasn't elderly
^especially nice windowpane suit and trousers, and sweater--were you the one who picked up the cashmere version?! who made the socks? i wore that striped kind as a child always pulled up even with shorts. not sure why.
^Thanks. I've had the Press striped socks from England but they fall down too easily. Mine from the early 80s were probably from JC Penney for pennies. Today my favorite everyday socks are from Kohl's, Docker's Comfort Cushion with the orange stripe on the inside, like Brooks Brothers sweaters. But recently they replaced the tube sock version with a nasty spandexy thing and called it enhanced, and I can't find them anymore. Figures.

wall to wall whales and lobsters, nice old snobby place with little debs? jesus. i will take the english village.
the tie is ok though if you like whales. my only emblematic for the most part is a bulldog. i'd like to have the top hatted version press made a few years ago.
a lot of BB's recent photos have done the 80s brooks catalog look rather well, i think
^vineyard vines/pulitzer/toggery detox i think. the stuff has crept into every corner of new england, though northern, non-coastal new england seems relatively safer for the time being. when i went into the holmes store in northeast harbor, mt desert island, maine, about a decade ago, there was comparatively little neo-prep stuff, and a full wall of shetlands, if i am not over-romanticizing it
it is interesting to me what the 80s brooks catalogs leave out when contrasted with the official preppy handbook. i know at various points before it went to hell brooks resisted the preppy label and even ivy too, i think, for good reason.
