Nice. Reckon you can pull it off! Their Duffels are interesting but seem like one of those brands that are neither here nor there these days despite the excellent heritage.

/\  good work Woof, wear it in good health, I used to have an Invertere fly-front raincoat of Grenfell cloth from the Andover Shop in the early '80s, it was first-rate, really great brand, enjoy!

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Brookscloth blue graph check. My first Brookscloth, though coincidentally I was reading an old HTJ post about them just today. I also recently picked up a nice dark green raincoat, most likely 1960s-vintage, made by London Fog for Littler's in Seattle, with a 100% alpaca lining. A lot of single-breasted raincoats you find on Ebay have those bigger, sharper '70s collars, but this one has a nice small collar.

I've been stocking up on summer stuff lately, much as I empty my wallet on tweeds in September, far too early to wear any of them. Apart from the two Corbin madras jackets I've mentioned elsewhere (one in a darker tartan plaid, one in a very light plaid in pinks and olives), I bought a bit of a grail item for me, a 3/2 sack green blazer, in hopsack, also from Corbin. Not a dark green, but not a kelly green either - somewhere in between, and very nice. Also grabbed some old Jos. A. Bank madras trousers, which brings my total number of madras trousers to two pairs - two pairs too many, if you ask my girlfriend.

Looking forward to wearing all these stuff very soon. Temps still in the 40s and 50s here for the most part - a long way from seersucker and madras weather, Memorial Day notwithstanding. But soon it'll be madras, seersucker, poplin, Nantucket reds, white tennis hats, penny loafers with no socks, short-sleeved OCBDs, GTH trousers, MIUSA Lacoste polos, and all the good stuff...

If there is a moral to this post, it is: look for Corbin. It's not as sought after as the big trad/Ivy names like Southwick, Press, Brooks, etc., so good stuff can be had for very fair prices, and they made summer clothing that wears like iron in my experience.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

I had a Corbin tweed jacket. It was the best slouchy jacket I've ever owned. Any slouchier and it would have been a Pendleton Topster. Alas, I got bigger and it didn't. So it got purged.

Re: Recent Old Ivy Finds

Just got in the mail a vintage Haspel blue/white wash and wear seersucker jacket: sack, 3/2, hook vented, two button sleeves, barely lined. Pretty much every Ivy detail. Jacket is in beautiful, I'd say like new, condition. $18.

Listing said it was 2 button "slim fit" - I'll be getting my tailor to take it in next week. Just an example of why looking more closely at eBay listings is key wink
