Thank you BB... 😊. It is the same here. They lack the support, whether it is at home or at school before... the whole system we have makes it pretty hard to support. We try to support them as much as possible, but they go to primary school for four years, then to secondary ("middle") school, again for four years. Then one year to Polytechnical School. Quite a few think they can make it to "better" (they think training for skilled work is a bad thing) schools afterwards but lacking all that support over years this is often a lost game..
What I wanted to say is... after all the years in school they are not fit for the training for skilled work. They believe this kind of three year training is a rather bad and really easy thing, but to become a technician for cars or a sales assistant is not that easy. So this is then again a lost game...

Would it be possible to create a separate thread for politics and social criticism? I am not interested in reading about or discussing these things on here. Please don't take it the wrong way. Thank you in advance.
Did not want to disturb your circles, Mister Archimedes...

getting back to the essence of the Late '70s Prep aesthetic, I recently found one last large brown L. L. Bean canvas duffle bag from the late '70s, certainly not later than 1981 ... this one belonged to one of my younger brothers ... it needs a bit of mending, one small hole needs sewing closed and the bottom needs some stitching, and the leather handles need to be conditioned ...
all these things are fairly easily done and I think will make for a great and authentic Late '70s Prep project for me in a couple of weeks .....
then I'll have cornered the stock on old brown canvas L. L. Bean bags ... the number of actual Late '70s Preps who appreciate these things is not terribly high but I love a good salvage job and this thing qualifies .....
I probably will be using these old duffle bags forever, they make good storage bags too ... maybe better as storage units than travel bags at this point ....
More tomorrow
I have some classic Danner hiking boots inbound (totally unnecessary as a city dweller, but I have been on a few walks this year and last Christmas it snowed a lot... ).
What trousers / bottoms would suit these aside from denim in the colder months? I was thinking some cords but most of mine feel a bit smart... would be good to hear thoughts or even some archive pics!
