All excellent as usual BB, but my takeaway from this serial of photos is the excellent sock skills you are showing here. A reminder of how good navy blue socks look with grey flannels and particularly with cordo colour shoes.

^ Yes I liked this one too, especially the somewhat crumpled point collar. Looks like you're hustling to get to the Chaucer seminar and can't remember where you put your notes

To anyone who is interested the blog is no longer blocked. At least for the time being. There may even be a new post from time to time. We will see how it goes.

Re: Ivy league style for today (part 2)

leading off with Ivy trad lawyer/old rural prep combo ... love the Makers trifecta that kicks off the latest post, it is perfect ... when that look is needed it works for me, that's my '80s/'90s lawyer look to a tee .... nice work ... of course we weren't wearing wide-wale cords and blucher mocs along with blazer, ocbd, and foulard, would have been a Friday look, with gray worsteds and probably cordovan or black calf strap Alden loafers

but still, great work Beebs

Re: Ivy league style for today (part 2)

It's funny, it's like my first and last looks in the post are mixed and matched... Those gray J. Press flannels and Alden bit loafers could easily go with the Makers trifecta, and the Southwick tweed with the Bean cords and blucher mocs...

I think I aim for a kind of golden mean of rumpled formality, sometimes it requires dressing down a more formal half with a more casual jacket or a more crumpled pair of trousers... I'm already the most formally dressed in my workplace by a country mile, I personally like wearing suits and wear at least one a week, sometimes I go on a tear and wear 3 or even 4, but then I tend to go really old rural prep the other days to bring down my average...

Gotta get some stuff to the tailor, elbow pads on a Makers gray tweed, some alterations - another navy blazer, a patch pocket camel hair... Some resoling jobs to get in the mail in the near future as well, including the above Alden bit loafers, my black calf tassels, and some Alden LHS's...

It's still COLD here but I'm already dreaming about poplin... I'm not tired of sweaters yet, in fact this week may be a lambswool week for me... But sun will be nice, when it comes... someday...
