Those LL Bean boat shoes are my favorites, chocolate color with white sole. Unfortunately I haven't been able to secure a new pair for this year; they're always out of stock or backordered or something. I typically get two years out of them, maybe a bit more. No skin allergy here.

I got a pair of Timberlands which look okay but they've got some padding that, once it gets wet, stays that way. And it seems to embrace sand and micro pebbles.

In my book a boat shoe is going to get wet. The LL Bean can be rinsed out with no residual pebblitation.

/\  nice work Beebs on the raw silk Chipp tie, Press used to do those in raw India silk, I have a couple, I love them, they are it for summer, of course mine haven't been worn in years, but they're nice to have, good to see one worn well in the field as it were
