Great shoes: cheap as chips, as Kingstonian might put it. Burgundy cordovan shitkickers that I've mentioned time and again. Wear them the first couple of times, you'll feel as if you've got lead weights on your feet. But you soon get used to it. Minor wear and tear after approximately three years.
I'd just like to say, all these years on, these shoes are still giving great service. The wear and tear became a little more major but Brooks Of Chesterfield took them in a few weeks ago and made them look good as new for £85. I wore them at my daughter's first wedding in 2011 and could easily have worn them to the second, in late August. Opted for the Florsheim PTBs instead. No regrets over that choice of shoe. Wore them yesterday and they're as comfortable as ever.
They sound great, Sadness.
Take a few pics on and off and post them on the DW Shoe thread. Then Shooey and other Shoomen will give you details regarding the shoes that will make you gasp.
Relatively speaking, they are still a newish shoe so they ought to have many years of enjoyable wear left in them.
Your audacity makes me gasp. They are great. I already know that.
I'm struggling to see anything gasp-worthy in his post myself. Remember you did promise you weren't going to have another 'episode'.
As re. the OP: my Florsheim cordovan longwings are gathering dust (and possibly cracking) back in Blighty. I might be back in the new year, in which case I'll rehydrate them with some coats of shoe cream before hitting the mean streets of Nottingham in them.
I don't wear them in the summer but for the rest of the year, particularly winter, they're one hell of a shoe.
