American Flight Bags

Always fancied an original Pan-Am (or similar bag), but am still looking.  Very 'Golden Age Ivy'/broadening your horizons/early Bond thrillers kind of vibe to them - not to mention good-looking stewardesses.  An Ivy accessory, yes?

Re: American Flight Bags

There are lots of repro ones around which TBH are a bit naff. I don't know what the chances are of finding an original one are, given that they are made of plastic.

Re: American Flight Bags

That's quite a mod thing isn't it, the Pam-Am bag? Not sure I like those olive green large square 'military' bags I see certain ageing hipsters/Ivyists sporting about town. Not sure what they're called. Marshy used to always have one.

Good for storing your 'Special Relationship' pastrami on rye.

Re: American Flight Bags

JS was sometimes seen toting a bag of some description.  Can't imagine what was inside.

Re: American Flight Bags

I'd never thought of it as 'Mod'.  I enjoyed 'Catch Me If You Can' and, in its day, 'Airport' (old enough to have seen it on the big screen).  All quite ironic, given my deep-seated aversion to flying.
