Just fusing a couple of wires here, possibly on behalf of the 45-plus (in age) forum members. Having just inherited two thirty-odd year old, USA made, faded and softened examples, I'm willing to go out on a limb and advise Gibson Gardens to gather up an armful for his old age.
My dear old Dad paid top dollar for these in New York mid-1979. The year his baggage allowance consisted entirely of cut-outs.
I believe our Gibson has long since been a fan/wearer of these.
RL can probably cause as much argument as Brooks. At least.
Only yesterday, elsewhere on here, I was reading about their flogging chinos with holes in them.
This morning I took delivery of one of the 'Dad-gift' type polo shirts. Made In The USA, all-cotton, navy blue.
Plain and simple. All right, so it has the naff logo. Otherwise - pretty perfect I'd say.
