A Great And Under Appreciated Jew: Alan Arkin

I could have said this about my beloved Eli Wallach but I guess many will be familiar with his leering Mexican bandit roles.  Alan Arkin, on the other hand...  maybe not so much...
It appears that 'Last Of The Red Hot Lovers' is not available on DVD.  A thousand pities.  His rather bleak encounters with women he hopes to lay are pricelessly funny - as a direct contrast to his sinister Roat in 'Wait Until Dark': menacing Audrey Hepburn's blind lady.
Very Jewish New York.  Brooklyn.

David Mamet...  He's taken rather an alarming (I guess) political journey...  I love his play-writing, even more than (some) Pinter...
