Music - What Hits The Spot? - Your Nominations

Just the other day I thought once again how glorious 'Saeta' is - from 'Sketches Of Spain'.
In complete contrast, Astaire singing 'Night And Day'.

All thoughts are welcome.  All tastes.  That's the idea.  If it hits the spot...

Re: Music - What Hits The Spot? - Your Nominations

ALL Soul, whether it be Northern, Stax, Motown, Modern, JB, Otis, whatever, will always top my list
BlueBeat. Ska. Rocksteady. Lovers Rock.
Old blues. Old R&B
Sixties British Beat groups Who. Small Faces, The Action, All of 'em.
Georgie Fame.
2 Tone
Acid Jazz
The Faces. Bowie. Van.
Louis Prima. Louis Jordan. Louie Louie.
First wave of UK punk
Brit Pop. Primal Scream. And yes, Mod Revival.
Julie London. Sinatra. Deano
The Jam. The Style Council. Paul Weller.
Jazz. Although to my shame, I love it being on, but can't talk about it with any authority.
All this is music that still gives me 'that' feeling. I don't feel the need to collect any more.

Robert Johnson. I can't think of anyone, maybe anything, else that I know so little about, and still be completely transfixed by.
Whenever I listen to his music it's like I've been allowed to watch one door start to close, and another begin to open.

Spendthrift, he was like a being from another universe.  You'll know the crazy rumours about him.
