It's somebody literate pretending to be illiterate.  To some on here, that comes naturally.  But not to this one.

hi viz as everyone has to wear at least a vest all they have is the thick body warmers i would like a hi viz boiler suit and maybe trousers etc as we have to wear hi viz top and bottom because we work on roads all the time the gear we get supplied at work is rubbish

Viz went downhill in 1985, after they were taken over by Nuckertuck. I've got a few NOS body warmers from the 60s (at least they have the old misprinted Voz-label from 1959 which they used until all 100k wrong labels were consumed). I bought them for a silly amount before the whole Viz hype went off after the first season of the "Home Improvement" series. They don't fit me and smell after the tarmac they laid in, but what a bargain.

Woolrich gets a mention as a slightly marginal item.  Variable stuff, isn't it?  The shirt I bought recently has scarcely been off my back, but other items of theirs look, well, a little bogus.  I had some quarter zip thing years ago I rather wish I'd hung onto as it was proof against chilly weather.

I agree with RobbieB. Wearing a bow tie or blazer on your own around the house just seems bizarre to me. But that and going overboard on ‘workwear’ strike me as two sides of the same coin.

Strange thing about workwear is there’s actually very few places in the real world you can wear it. I occasionally find myself working on site. I’d be laughed off the place if I turned up in Carpenter jeans, a denim shirt and Red Wings. If I’m going out to cut the lawn it would be very contrived to nip upstairs to get changed into a Canadian logger outfit first.

I do own some, Dickies chambray shirt, a really good Carhartt duck jacket, Timberlands. I like selvedge jeans. But if I wear any I limit it to one piece only. Any more than that and I’m on a steady slope towards a waxed moustache and beard conditioner.
