Just to add a tip of my own: have your burst collars 'turned'. Well worth it at £8 per shirt. Knowing this before would have saved six or eight Brooks shirts going in the bin.

I tried the collar turning tip a few years ago. Finding someone willing to do it was a challenge and they didn't do it very well meaning it was a waste of time and money. If the collar doesn't replicate its original placement then the roll is ruined. Nonetheless, if you know someone who can do it well then I'm sure it's worth it.

Another selling point is that they will no longer have to find a pumice stone to wear away a new shirt.

My top tip is that if you find a great wardrobe staple that's quality and affordable invest in more than one.
I've lost count of how many times I've purchased something that has been superb in either fit or price only to find manufacturers then bugger-about with designs.
Trousers being a case in point. The continuing trend for lower rise trousers masquerading as having a mid rise is really annoying.
I purchased a lovely pair of moleskins, a pretty basic item, only to find a few years later the fit was completely revamped and the price significantly increased.
I know jokingly refer to my habit as buying stock.
