The general assumption is that it was from the Andover Shop, as that was where Miles famously shopped when he was into ivy. Impossible to confirm I suspect.
Sounds plausible enough to me.
I expect Frosty bumped into Miles frequently in the changing room. Probably gave out a few tips on how to improve his technique.
I doubt a no name shop would do an ocbd of that quality. A campus shop yes.
There's a nice photograph of a young Miles, looking quite contented with life, in 'The Hip'. I expect the sourness only set in after he'd made all that money.
All that cocaine can't have helped.
Nor having (presumably) to mingle with 'rock stars': the fate of a certain number of jazz and blues players, no?
I grew slightly furious when reading of Monk and others being used as warm-up acts for rock groups.
Just getting back to Miles' green shirt (which probably has a thread of its own dating back fifteen or so years for all I know) I don't think the colour should be dismissed lightly but simply reserved for a particular time of year (in England between, say, Easter and mid-August, give or take a week or two on either side). The younger (or slender) man might wear it with great pleasure teamed simply with white Levis. You ask TRS what he thinks. Cola or snuff coloured desert boots perhaps. Or the colour of loafers Yuca tends to favour.
Green micro-gingham: very James Coburn in 'Charade'.
This is a lesser seen shot from the Milestones sessions we found when doing the NatIL exhibition. Looks like it was shot in a bedroom
Agree, it's not as easy colour to carry off - had a few green oxfords but those pale ones don't work on me.

I think if this had been a colour image it would have been a great cover
