Just returning to the original posting, I've never heard of Ian Strachan wearing anything other than white, sometimes blue, Brooks shirts.
Does anyone know any different?

An American-made shirt - with an Italian connection (can't recall exactly what) - turned out to be a bad buy, even at £5. Horrible collar. Not button-down. I really ought to have known better, but I thought I'd spotted a bargain and would simply wear it round the house. Set aside now for a local charity shop.

I have also found a couple of BB shirts in TKMaxx, one of them made in USA (white) and one in Malaysia not so long ago.

I'm still finding old Brooks shirts for relatively short money on eBay but the supply is dwindling. I have to low through dozens of non-irons before finding something right. (Seems "vintage" means "anything made before last week" now.)

I don't get the impression the UK sellers give a flying fuck where the shirts are made, but I'm buying everything USA-made in my size that crops up.
