Yesterday I came across the Grey Fox blog and see a posting from 2020 I think where he was wearing a very passable CC chino type blazer, matched with chino trousers, I think he mentioned total price around £150, for what it's worth he gave them a very favourable review, I checked the CC website and they don't seem to have the blazers anymore which is a shame, maybe non Ivy types have moved on from this type of blazer , my Wife received a Lands End brochure in the post yesterday, had a glance through it I noticed they had some cotton/linen jackets, checked them out online and for £130 - 40% = £78 they look very passable, similar to a Vetra, unlined, single vent, 3 patch pockets, 3 colours, some panelling/darting , the ' All Spice/Khaki' colour looks a nice colour,

Despite Royal Mail's finest efforts, I am now in possession of my chore jeans. Last time I looked they had completely disappeared from the CC website, which may or may not be due to sizing discrepancies (in fact I may have to return mine). Just in case they become available again I will give a quick summary:

At first glance the overall look of the tan pair is quite similar to skater jeans due to the pockets and voluminous thighs, however, despite my having no interest in such a look, they do appeal due to also having a lot in common with my 1950s US army chinos, particularly the colour, generous legs and high rise. Actually I had to have the army chinos tapered on the thigh and may need to do the same to these (probably not though). I pressed a crease and fat cuffs into them and, despite the unusual pockets, they now definitely have that 50s look. The colour and rise are particularly good.

If they come back in stock and the sizing issues are resolved then they might work for some of you. Definitely not a Take Ivy look, obviously. (Unless you went crazy with the tapering perhaps.) It was snowing and hailing this morning and these are 11oz, but once things improve on that front I will probably be getting use out of these (if I decide the size works).

The Grey Fox, last time I leafed through his blog he appeared to be completely in thrall to Cordings, perhaps he and Muffy should go on a date?

She's a lucky lady with all the free shit Cordings send her. Wish they could send me a tweed coat or the 4-ply shawl collar cardigan. C'mon guys, stop the simping. She's already married!

Must say I think their ethics and quality of production are exemplary. Now if only we can persuade them to make some natural shoulder jackets, madras shirts etc... I can see them doing a nice duffle coat actually as their peacoat is supposedly impressive.

I'm not entirely sure whether a foray into smarter clothing would work for them. Seems like casual is their forte.
