Clever marketing with the Mingus Jacket as an alternative to the traditional Harrington jacket. I can't be the only one who puts on an old Harrington, looks in the mirror, and thinks 'nah, don't think so'
I wouldn't pay the £340 for a new Harrington and I'm not sure if I'd  fork out for the Mingus although it does look good on the bloke in the doorway.

Yes the lady looks good. Most of the clothes she is wearing could be worn by a bloke. My missus has worn my shirts, Harringtons, t shirts etc. Invariably they look good on her.
I have similar 'prescription' sun glasses as the lady. Who is she?

Loop collar overshirts, made in London, now available at JS. £185. I wonder how they compare with an all wool Pendleton at £215. I suspect the Pendleton is superior?

Agree re: problems with Harringtons. I only sparingly wear my London Fog 'g4, in navy, and almost never in stone - usually I would do so with a brighter Shetland (salmon, gold etc) to avoid looking like an old man, or worse, a mod!

Worth thinking about the trousers too as it makes a nice casual winter suit.

Received a navy cord JS ivy jacket for my birthday - delighted to say the least. A lovely jacket. Was actually bought a size up from my usual, 42 rather than a 40 (long), but actually not a huge difference from most of my other jackets, and probably a little longer too which helps. I like the option of being able to wear a Shetland with a cord jacket, and suspect the shoulders on the 40 in the cord would be too narrow anyway.

Considered it, but I wouldn't be able to cuff the trousers as I'm too tall. And for me, cords need to be cuffed unless worn in a 60s boom years trim high-water, high rise casual style....

The JS cord jacket has a slightly more ivy-in-Paris kind of vibe (must be the J Keydge similarities!) - I think why I'm liking the slightly slouchy fit of the size up.

I do love a cord suit - classic Tony Perkins look - but it risks standing out that bit too much in Britain (even in London), rather than keeping things under the radar, which is essential to my take on ivy, at least!
