Re: Call Girls

You can find girls in Manhattan easily as hot as Spitzer's friend for a tenth of the price (or less) in 5 minutes' time.

I would think that the premium he paid would get him some kind of fool-proof discretion, but I guess not.

It is a fascinating world, and the girls are usually pretty cool and interesting.

You only go around once...

Re: Call Girls

As others have said, I was particularly struck by what poor value His Excellency the Governor was getting: An ill-educated, sometimes homeless, erstwhile (maybe?) druggie, with a homemade tattoo on her hand--sounds like a fairly typical white whore to me. Above average looks for a working girl, but there are plenty of decent-looking whores about whose services would be available at a fraction of her fees, I suspect...at least there were a couple of decades back when I was more into that scene. Even making a generous adjustment for inflation, I wouldn't rate "Kristen" as worth more than about $300/hr.

I too strongly suspect the "high class" prostitute is pretty much a creation of fiction and cinema.

In the course of my many adventures in hookerland (and I lived and worked in areas teeming with prostitutes in the '70s and '80s), I found that about a third of all prostitutes were really nice--pleasant and eager to please. About a third were cold and avaricious and not very pleasant, and about third fell somewhere between those extremes. Unfortunately, usually, the less attractive the hooker, the more pleasant and eager to please she was and vice-versa, although this was by no means always the case.

Some will tell you the "hooker with the heart of gold" is a myth. I disagree. There are some. Not many, but some.

I wonder what the Emperors Club's absolutely top-dollar girls look like. For those prices, one would expect them to be of the caliber of Sports Illustrated swimsuit models at the very least.

Re: Call Girls

Ol Boys,

Me thinks that this Kristen was actually about $300 an hour.  If you read closely, ol Shpritzer was paying $1000 extra for the next go.  And this Kristen locomoted from NYC to DC and worked for 4 hours.  I reckon she was getting less than $300 hour.

I agree with Fogey that ol Shpritzer is getting what he gave.  He who ruleth with an iron hand.

Now back to more stories from ol Brownshoe and captnpreppy.  TChauncey, tho a worldly soul and internet Gentleman of the first order, is sadly ignorant of these matters.

Carry on ol Sports,
Trip

Re: Call Girls

I note that Spitzer had signed into law legislation increasing the prison time for "Johns" from 3 months to one year. Frankly, I hope he does get some time in the pokey.

Here in SoCal, I think in both LA and Long Beach the cops are legally allowed to confiscated your car (permanently!) for attempting to solicit a copchick posing as a hooker. Pretty damn draconian if you ask me--both the jail time and the confiscation--for a totally victimless crime for some poor bastard who is guilty of nothing more than being lonely and horny and having a few bucks in his pocket, especially when there is invariably a high element of entrapment in such cases.

Most of these increased penalties are the result of feminist pressure to punish the clients of the whores. In feminist mythology, the whores are invariably the victims of the wicked Johns. Most popular entertainment is also sympathetic to the whores--their clients are almost invariably depicted as at best obnoxious louts, at worst psycho killers. All this sympathy for the poor whore--none for the poor John! Apparently, the creators of such rubbish have never been roused from a sound sleep at 3:00 a.m. with a collect call in a wheedling voice, "Hey, this is Krissie. I just got released from Women's Central Jail, and I could sure use a date right now." Happened to me more times than I care to remember!

Re: Call Girls

There was an interesting article in Slate the online magazine by someone who apparently kows a fair amount by the high priced sex industry. The article opined that the problem was not that Spitzer paid too much but rather that he had paid too little. I'd still wonder about the views of whomever it was at North Shore bank who decided to file the report with the IRS.

Re: Call Girls

I thought that one sort of innocent pic. of the chick was the cutest.    I didn't know that Spitzer was so draconian in his enforcement of morality laws.  That alters my opinion of matters a bit.

As for whoring as a victimless crime, I'd agree with the exception of the fact that there's some degree of coercion, no doubt, amongst certain elements of the underworld and immigrant women.  But I don't see the problem between two consenting adults.

I knew a woman in England, years ago, who knew a woman in Chelsea who ran an agency of men who would date older women, mainly divorced or single.  Apparently, at the time, there was a large enough demographic of well-off women living in London who needed companionship.  There could be worse jobs, I imagined at the time.
