Dress Shoes:

4 black: 19 non-black (but includes a pair of black & white spectators)

Dress Casual:

2 black; 13 non-black (If I had to do it over, I would not buy any black dress casual shoes)

2 black, 4 brown. I'm not really a shoe person..

Only 10% black for work. But it will grow.

For many years, it was a point of pride with me that I owned only two pairs of black shoes, one pair of punch cap oxfords and one pair of opera pumps.  During that time, I kept a rotation of less than two dozen pairs of dress shoes.  Now, working quickly from memory, I come up with a few more than three dozen pairs of dress shoes.  I know, because they are so few, that only five of those pairs are black and that includes two pairs of opera pumps.  One step down in dressiness, though still leather soled and appropriate with sport coats and casual suits, I have about a dozen pairs of slip ons of which three are black.  Interestingly, to me anyway, I have almost twice as many pairs of brown suede shoes, dress and casual, as I do black shoes.

My next two shoos will be black and classic styles; one a plain black captoe oxford and the other with a brogued captoe.

I hardly ever wear the blacks - although I like them.
