Re: U.S. Workwear -

Does anybody rate 'Prison Blues'?  John Simons had a couple of bits in stock when I was last in there.  To me it looks like slightly pretentious rockabilly gear.

Re: U.S. Workwear -

The Buzz Rickson/Sugarcane chambray shirts look very nice, a lot of money though.  I have wanted to like the Engineered Garments/Woolrich stuff but find it just too over designed and too clever for it's own good - I just don't like that many pockets in odd places.  Shame because the fabrics are nice - then they ruin it with a pocket at waist level or some such nonsense.

I think the RRL line also has some chambray shirts that look good......

Re: U.S. Workwear -

Just did a side-by-side comparison of two chambray shirts that are at opposite ends of the price and prestige spectrum: The Ralph Lauren RRL chambray shirt, at $190, and the newly introduced LL Bean version at, $39.50.  I must say that after close inspection, LL Bean gives RRL a serious run for the money and, in the end, I would take the Bean shirt over the RRL shirt, all things considered.

Re: U.S. Workwear -

on the $$$ side is Mister Freedom.

they have quiet an amazing store, it's HUGE, full of vintage clothes, along with their line.  The shop is somewhat hidden in plain view, must have driven by it countless times and never knew it was there.

Re: U.S. Workwear -

For some reason the LL Bean chambray looks great from the front but then is all wrong on the rear image. But then on my laptop ,the rear image looks like it's from another shirt even the colour is different - chambray button down? I'm sure they wouldn't put a box pleat and locker loop on a workshirt...

^Yes, that must be a mistake... they must have mixed up the pictures. Still, before I would order one, I would try to make sure...

Re: U.S. Workwear -

I'm proud to be picky but I'm not obsessive. I have a J Crew chambray shirt and I'm not too fond of its plastic buttons, but that doesn't stop me from wearing it. Sometimes something is good enough.

Re: U.S. Workwear -

^^ Marc's post seems a bit cryptic with the quoted bit Weejun... you may have misunderstood. I thought he meant the price difference between the RRL shirt and the Bean one is silly.
