And what is $13.84 anyway? The cost of a lunch. My interest in that book is the information regarding fabrics and quality of suits. I understand that it is based upon "The Prince." I wonder if the next clothing book will be based upon Sun Tsu's Art of War?
I do not own any clothes book.
I am currently reading 'Hatless Jack' which I got at the library. Same library has Bernard Roetzel's book 'Gentlemen'. I cannot borrow it because it shows a bloke in his underpants on the front cover.
It is gay enough posting on clothes forums.
SHARP SUITS - if you are into styles form 20's - 80's (with emphasis on 40's - 60's) then I'd recomned this book. I think its one of the better ones out there
DRESSING THE MAN

^Sorta surprised that was never touted in the fora. There was a lot of anticipation concerning The Suit/Dandy, but this is the first I've heard of that one.
I thought posting here instead of a new thread appropos.
Before my absence, We talked about a OOP book The Englishman And His Suit <sic>
I contacted the publisher and learned it was being reissued in a paperback edition.
Any further word?
Hardy Amies?
basically i also leaning about the suits there are many techniques in tailoring suits.
Very interesting technique there Rhonda, a method to your cut ups.
Do you find leaning on suits to offer a decent amount of support? I generally lean against either a structural wall or some type of sturdy furniture, but I like to keep an open mind....I'll have to give it a try.
Anything by Simon Crompston. Mainly blogs. Realises that it would not sell but it is all good stuff. Populist with a bit of classy zing.
With any genre of research rarely will one tome cover everything. One book may be a total waste, yet have one treasure of insight or obscure fact. The reverse of this is the fossilisation of wrong information that gets passed on without challenge.
I would argue all clothing books should come with a jacket and 7 fold page ribbon.
^Ckav, you're as mad as a hatter. What's your tipple of choice? I need to start drinking this.
Bas du Armanac when I can afford it or Laphpraiog single malt. If it's winter at sea hot buttered rums with Pussers.
